RESEARCH & REFERENCES
  1. Effects of once-weekly semaglutide on appetite, energy intake, control of eating, food preference and body weight in subjects with obesity

Blundell J, Finlayson G, Axelsen M, Flint A, Gibbons C, Kvist T, Hjerpsted JB. Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism. 2017.

Research published in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism reported less hunger and food cravings and better control of eating with semaglutide than placebo after 12 weeks in 30 participants with obesity. This small trial does not establish that every patient will experience these effects or that food noise will disappear.

  2. Once-Weekly Semaglutide in Adults with Overweight or Obesity

Wilding JPH, et al. New England Journal of Medicine. 2021.

Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine reported greater average weight reduction with semaglutide plus lifestyle intervention than with placebo plus lifestyle intervention in the studied population. Gastrointestinal adverse events occurred. This trial does not establish a guaranteed outcome or a food-noise response timeline.

  3. Tirzepatide Once Weekly for the Treatment of Obesity

Jastreboff AM, et al. New England Journal of Medicine. 2022.

Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine reported greater average weight reduction with tirzepatide than with placebo in the studied population, with gastrointestinal adverse events most common. The trial did not compare food-noise relief with semaglutide or study this clinic’s care.

Evidence limits: These sources do not establish an exact onset of food-noise relief, elimination of food-related thoughts, or tirzepatide’s superiority for food-noise relief. Clinical research on approved products does not establish equivalence of compounded formulations.
